Scottish Premiership Season 2018/19

Alfredo Morelos finished the top scorer with 18 goals in the league. Despite his disciplinary problems he averaged a goal every 123 minutes in the league. Sam Cosgrove missed a penalty in the dying minutes at Easter Road which would of seen him draw level on 18 but he had to settle for an impressive 17 in his first full season in senior football. Jermain Defoe proved to be a deadly marksman as he has been all his career averaging a goal every 118 minutes which was the best in the league finishing on 8 from january. He will be looking to continue that form going in to the new season.

James Tavernier was the top goal scoring defender with 14 and although a lot of these were penalties it was still a great achievement for a player who splits opinions in this country, add in 14 assists and you can see why English clubs will be taking a serious look at this guy. Craig Halkett 7 goals coming from a defence is extremely impressive and he finished Livingstons top scorer for the season.

David Turnbull was the top marksman in midfield and what a season the young man has had at Motherwell. He will not doubt be attracting interest with those types of figures and with a 66% shots to target ratio is not to be sniffed at. Only veteran Kenny Miller had a better ratio with 69% of his shots hitting the target and it goes to show that he may be worth a punt to a top division side if he decides to leave Dundee this summer.

Hamilton the lowest scorers in the division with only 28 goals all season will be looking to bolster that front line. They will hope George Oakley can find a regular scoring touch and securing Tony Andreu must be a priority.
